If you don't watch it people will force you one way or the other into doing what they think you should do, or into just being mule-stubborn and doing the opposite just out of spite.

I'm 6 mths old.

Time wheezes by so quickly when you're having fun.
Mummy's been taking care of me for 6 mths already and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Everyday is fun coz mummy always come up with new tricks to entertain me.
Like playing superman, reading Dr Seuss borrowed from the library,
exploring the house, dancing, jumping,
looking at the flashcards, playing tickle, etc.
I... on the other hand... also entertain her with my achievement of new milestones.

Things I can do now...
... flip at super fast speed when I want to
... hold my feet/toes
... hold my magmag sippy cup and drink water from it
... lift my body and support it on all fours
... laugh out loud
... stretch my hands and grab things
... sit in the high chair for a relatively long time
... sit unsupported for a short while
... remove the hanky from my face when playing peekaboo
... get to where I want by kicking, sliding, wriggling and sometimes crawling
... make more sounds like ah, goo, me, meh, guh.....
... jump when support
... drool alot alot (I'm teething you know!)

Heh... actually I can do alot more but it'll take too much time to list them.
Oh, one more thing, mummy took my statistics yesterday.
Weight : 7.8kg (increased by 0.4kg)
Height : 66.5cm (increased by 1.5cm only... sigh)
Head circumference : to be updated
Mummy told me that she hopes I can grow more lengthwise.
I'll try to do more stretches from tomorrow onwards.
She says I can afford to be a tad heavier too...
though my Ee Ee would beg to differ coz she thinks I resemble Michelin man too much.

This is Mr Michelin.

This is me... check out the folds on my thigh and bulging tummy.

Ee Ee, I don't think I look like Mr Michelin.... my double chin's nearly gone you know.
*wink wink*
Oh... and will you play superman with me the next time I see you.
Please.

License to travel

We will be going to Bangkok in December.
Lil' Dino's coming along.
Before he obtain his license to travel, we'll need his photo.
Daddy tried to take a decent one so that we can apply online.
It's a failed mission.
I'm bringing him to a professional photographer on Friday.

Phototaking Session

Isaac : Ok Daddy... this is my best look. Good?
Daddy : No no... don't smile like that. You look too cheeky. Straighten your head.

Isaac : What about this? A side profile... think they'll like it?
Daddy : No no... no side profile.

Isaac : Why are they so troublesome daddy? I'm getting impatient.
Daddy : Isaac... don't pout. You want to go to Bangkok with mummy and daddy right? Be patient ok.

Isaac : Alright... maybe you can attach a photo of me drooling? It's more authentic.
Daddy : No no... They don't want to see you drooling.

Isaac : Hmmpf.... I'm really getting impatient. Can we do this another day?

Daddy : Alright alright.

Sneezing

Lil' dino found my sneeze so amusing that each time I sneezed, he would burst out into laughter. So... I pretended to sneeze and each time, he would laugh out loud. My boy's really cute.

1st semi-solid experience

Isaac was introduced to his first semi-solid meal on 4th Sept 2007.
His first semi-solid was the Healthy Times Brown Rice Cereal.
I mixed a spoonful of it with my ebm.
It looked and smelt yummy to me :).
I sat him on the high chair, put a bib on him and got ready all the necessities.
However, each time the food went in, he would spit it all out.
He would even push the spoon or turn his head away.
I continued trying for the next few days and his rejection of the food grew.
Thus the verdict is ... He's not ready for solids as yet.

I tried again the next week with pumpkin.
Prepared with lotsa love.
Steamed, mashed and strained.
He wouldn't reject it this time since it's more flavourful and colourful.
WRONG!
He's still doing the pushing and turning aways.
Verdict ... He's still not ready.

I've decided to stop for a full week before I try again.
Don't want him to develop a phobia of eating.
I kinda regret continuing feeding him after the first attempt due to pressure from the elderlies saying... "You SHOULD introduce him to solids at 4mths".
Anyway, no more solids until Friday.

What's that mummy has in her hands?

Hmmm... let me try some.

Yucks... what's that.. I'll spit it all out.

Mummy... please don't put those yucky stuff in my mouth.

not once but TWICE!!!

Lil' Dino fell off the bed NOT ONCE BUT TWICE yesterday!!!

First time was in the afternoon.
I had put him in the middle of the bed so that I can get changed to bring him for a walk.
I think I was away for less than 1 minute and before I could step into the room, I heard a 'thud' and there he was lying with his back on the floor crying.
I hurriedly picked him up, held him close to comfort him.
When his sobbing subsided, I checked his head for bumps.
Luckily there was none.
I contemplated bringing him to the clinice but decided to observe him for a while more.
Meanwhile, I said a short prayer that nothing serious would result from the fall.
10 minutes later, he was playing again and grinning at me.
So I guess it was more of the shock than being hurt that made him cry.

Second time was after his evening bath.
He had finished his bath and I had placed him on the bed, wrapped him up like a popiah.
I thought.... No way he can roll off since he's all wrapped up.
I turned around to wipe off the little puddle of water on the floor...
It was less than 30 secs...
The moment I turned around, he's on the floor again....
still wrapped like a popiah.
I have forgotten whether it was face down or head down, coz I picked him up so quickly.
This time, he cried less coz I think the towel sort of lessened the impact of the fall.
The 'thud' was not so loud too.
My poor baby... 2 falls in one day!
Bad mummy!

Lil' dino can flip so fast now that I can't place him on the bed, unattended, anymore.
He can roll from one end of the bed to the other in a blink of an eye.
He looks so adorable doing it...
but not so adorable when he lands on the floor with a loud thud.
I guess I have to be more vigilant nowadays.
Meanwhile, playtime's only limited to the playpen until I get the playmat which is taking forever to arrive.

Isaac got a new toy from Maverick the last time we met for dinner at Kuishin-Bo.
It's a Barney the purple Dinosaur soft toy.
Of course Daddy had a fun time playing with him during their pre-bath bonding time.
Watch and you'll understand.
